I’m switching career from being a successful Mechanical Design Engineer to a Web Developer, which I’ve explained in my previous blog.
Since its my personal choice, I had to take the grind and challenge. As I had a 8-6 job, I gathered time in the early mornings and late nights. To add traction and accountability, I enrolled into iNeuron’s Full Stack Web Developer Bootcamp, which started on 10th July 2022. We have recorded sessions which are self-paced and live classes on weekends taught by Hitesh Choudhary. The class is very intense, I learnt a lot and out of all it has built me a strong confidence.
HTML gives webpages structure and CSS makes them look pretty. We were asked not to use a library like Bootstrap for styling, during this part. The point is to get used to creating markup, positioning elements, and styling only using CSS. Fortunately, the foundation of HTML and CSS are not that difficult. I started getting comfortable with HTML in a matter of few days. Basic CSS is also not that difficult, however CSS can get a bit complicated when we try to build advanced layouts.
But that’s the challenge, we were asked to build 15 webpages where the Design files are given and we are asked to build it via pure HTML and CSS. Also there was a CSS challenge where a couple of buttons, navbars, footers, tables and forms were to be built. Finally, we were asked to put them in a portfolio built only with HTML and CSS, to show our creativity.
This was very challenging for me as a newbie to web development, but I learnt to do that with ease with practise. Checkout my portfolio and the projects in the below link!
In a matter of 10 days, I completed all these 17 projects and it has given me immense confidence to build any webpage using HTML and CSS, within a short period of time. I’d love to share my future progress with you all soon!
